Work : The centre “Arthur Regniers” hosts people suffering of a cerebral and motor handicap. The volunteers will mainly be asked to attend to the basic needs of the children of the Center
( such as helping with the meals …) but will also have the opportunity to participate in the creation and the setting up of artistic and cultural activities, with the Center’s staff. They will also be
able to suggest their own activities.
Accomodation : inside the centre.
Location : Bienne-lez-Happart is a very small town near Binche, Mons and Charleroi. The Center itself is quite isolated in the countryside but bicycles and a car will be available to use*. These means of transportation can be used in the evenings or in the weekends, to discover the region and visit other places in Belgium.
*Please bring your bike helmet and your driver’s license, if possible.
Remarks: This workcamp is for volunteers who have a strong motivation for the topic. The Center is quite isolated, and the work can be challenging. An average knowledge of French is required, as activities will be conducted with children…who do not speak any English ;)
