ALLI 01 Nuori
Pori PORI 28.6.- 7.7. KIDS/ENVI 8 vols 18+ no
more females Work: The aim of the camp is to organize activities
for children and cultural program for small festival for children and families
and also to do some environmental work. The volunteers will remove allergy causing
plants called pujo (mugworth in English), cut down bushes and other plants and
clean up nature path in a small village nearby. The camp is organized by Nuori
Pori 2100 (Young Pori 2100) which is a local youth organization. Accommadation:
The accommodation will be arranged in the sport hall of the local school. Participants
must take their own mattresses and sleeping bags. Participants will have cooking
turns and cook their own food in the school . Location: Pori is a town
with 76 000 inhabitants. It is located 250km from Helsinki to the north-west

up ALLI 06 Sierla Renovation NUMMI-PUSULA 3.7.-14.7.
ENVI/RENO 15 vols 18 + no more females Work:
The camp will do various maintenance and repair work in a summer house for youth.
The volunteers will do painting work in the main building and tidying up the surrounding
areas (beach, forest, yard) and some other work.The camp host is the youth office
of city of Espoo and there will also be some local young people joining the camp. Accommadation:
Volunteers will sleep in the main building (an old wooden school) in bunk beds.
There is a well equipped kitchen where volunteers will cook their meals in turns.
There are no showers but instead there is a sauna and the lake. Toilets are outdoor.
Volunteers can do fishing, rowing, canoeing, swimming and other outdoor activities. Location:
Sierla camp center is located by a lake Pitkajarvi, surrounded by fields and forests,
in the municipal of Nummi-Pusula. There is a farm close by but the other neighbours
are mainly summer inhabitants. Nearest towns are Karkkila, Lohja and Salo (~30km)
and the closest bigger city is Espoo (~60km). Terminal: Espoo. The volunteers
will be taken by bus from Espoo to the camp place. Special requirements:

up ALLI 08 The Beat PIEKSAMAKI 16.7.-27.7. KIDS 10vols
18+ no more females Work: The
work and all tasks of the volunteers are linked to a large children`s camp. The
Beat Camp will gather about 2000 children and youngsters to a camp centre of a
Christian Association for Boys and Girls in Finland. Before the Beat starts the
volunteers assist building the camp site and the outside activity places. During
the Beat camp the volunteers assist in camp tasks, such as supplying food and
cleaning), welfare services, activities with the children, maintenance and communications.
After the camp the volunteers assist in clearing the camp site. The volunteers
have to be willing to spend lots of time outdoors in all weather conditions. Accommadation:
Accommodations in the cottages of a well-equipped camp centre Partaharju. Meals
at the camp site are included. There will be lots of activities to do. Location:
The camp site is located in eastern Finland near town Pieksamaki. Pieksamaki can

Terminal: Pieksamaki Special requirements: Because the work is
with children all the volunteers will need to provide a criminal record check
in English. Since the camp deals with children and is organized by a Christian
organisation they expect all the volunteers to have an open mind towards religion
(they do not need to be Christians) and also to be motivated to work with children
and provide some games and activities from their home countries etc. way
up ALLI 09 Cultural Heritage JALASJARVI 17.7.-30.7.
ENVI/CULT 10vols 18+ no more females Work:
Local villages in Jalasjarvi want to take good care of their communal houses and
environment. Communal houses are places where local people can gather together
to meet each other or to join various activities. Maintenance of these houses
together is important part of taking care of the local culture. Houses need renovation
such as painting, cleaning up and fixing things. Also the surroundings need help:
cutting the grass, clearing bushes etc. Accommadation: Accommodation
will partly be in the communal houses. There will be toilets and showers and small
kitchens. There will be some meals provided by the organizers but often the meals
will be cooked together by the volunteers. Location: Jalasjärvi
is located in western Finland and in Southern Ostrobothnia region. The population
of Jalasjarvi is about 8000. Jalasjärvi has nine villages and in the centre
of Jalasjärvi you can find all the basic services. Agriculture is the main
source of livelihood. In summertime there are a lot of happenings in Jalasjärvi
(theatre, dances etc).Seinäjoki is the nearest town. about 40 km away. The
distance from Helsinki to Jalasjarvi is about 400km. Terminal: Jalasjarvi

up ALLI 11 KULABO MEDIA CAMP Rauma 24.07.-10.8.

more females Work: The cultural youth centre of Rauma works
actively with cultural and intercultural issues organizing events, campaigns and
workshops. The themes of the work camp are short film producing and culture producing
issues. Volunteers will also become acquainted with ancient technology and eco
art as well as have a work shop on photography. Issues like human rights and racism
and tackled by the means of media education. Accommadation: During the
camp our headquarters will be in Rauma but we will stay overnight in other places
as well so the volunteers will need a sleeping bag. Location: In
Rauma there are about 40 000 inhabitants, www.oldrauma.fi. Rauma is located in
wetern Finland between Turku (100km) and Pori (50km). Terminal: Rauma
bus station. It is about 300km from Helsinki to Rauma and there are direct buses.

Ancient Arboretum III Eura 31.07.-13.08. 14vols Age: 18 + Work:The
camp host is a youth workshop located in western Finland. They believe in learning
by doing and working together in order to master traditional methods of renovation.
The workshop is situated in a old wooden building which needs repairing. There
is lots of manual work to be done with the building and surroundings, for example
renovating the windows in a traditional way. Also there is an old arboretum surrounding
the building. The volunteers will tidy up the arboretum, clear walking paths,
look for old plants and assist their chances for survival, generally do various
task to improve the environment. There were two work camps in this place last
summer and encouraged by this experience the host would like to invite international
volunteers again. Accomodation is in a large wooden building where the
workshop is situated. There are showers, sauna and mattresses. Volunteers will
assist in cooking. Location: Eura is located in the beautiful southwest
Finland, see more www.eura.fi/matkailu/infobr.htm .Nearest town is called Rauma.
Eura is about 220 km from Helsinki, and about 100 km from Tampere. The camp
host will organise trips to local sights. There is a beautiful lake nearby so
there are possibilities for swimming and fishing, maybe the group would like to
do some hiking trips. There are wonderful possibilities to get to know Finnish
nature, local culture and rich history of the area. Terminal: Eura

WINDOW TUUSNIEMI 1.08-10.8. RENO 7 vols 18 + no
more females Work: The camp host is a local village association
in a small village of Kojanlahti in eastern Finland. The association owns an old
school where they arrange activities in summertime. This wooden old building needs
repairing, mainly renovating the windows in a traditional way. The volunteers
should be able to ride bicycle in order to be able to freely move around. Accommadation:
Accomodation is in an old school. There are showers and mattresses. Self-catering,
volunteers will cook their meals themselves in turns. Location: Tuusniemi.
Tuusniemi is located in the beautiful eastern Finland between Kuopio and Joensuu,
see more www.tuusniemi.fi Be prepared to experience and enjoy the life in Finnish
countryside. The area is famous for lakes and there are plenty of possibilities
