DJ-66 SRAGEN PROJECT 1.09. – 15.09.2012 CONST + KIDS 12 VOLS
Background: Our project will take place in one of elementary school named SDAisyiah. SD AisyiahGemolong is an elementary school situated in GemolongSubdistric, Sragen Regency. This school belongs to private foundation based on Islamic Methodist Curriculum in which students get more religious educations than other school. Founded in 2004 this school is aiming to provide better education system for student which is integrated into religious values. Now, there are 342 students all together who is guided and accompanied by 26 teachers, 3 administrators and 2 security personnel. All students are spread out into 6 classes from 1st up to 6th grade. Extra activities after schooling such as sports and music are also performed in the afternoon.
Work:The volunteer will teach students simple basic English and introduce some English kids songs. The volunteers will also do simple renovation to the school that is making little garden and making bookshelves for the library. They will l also involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure Time: During the free time, the volunteers may visit Borobudur temple and Jogjakarta city. Besides, during the leisure time, the volunteers may visit Sangiran Museum as one of the world heritage
no.593 where thousands of fossils of human and animal in pre-historic period are kept and displayed. It is located 5 km from the village.
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in Indonesian host families (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) and cook their own meals.
Location: The workcamp will take place in Gandurejo village, Gemolong sub-district, Sragen Regency. It is located about 100 km east away from Semarang

DJ-67 KOPENG PROJECT 8.09. – 22.09.2012 AGRI + EDU 12 VOLS
Back ground: Getasan is a sub-district which is located in Semarang district. This sub district takes place in the valley of Merbabu Mountain which is one of Passive Mountain in java, Indonesia. The location in this village is fresh and quiet cold with a nice green and mountainous view around it, so it is suitable for doing workcamp in this site. Here, Dejavato cooperates with the local people and local school there, which is, located in the middle of the village, Getasan 01 elementary school. This school is in front of the local government office. There are hundreds of students and divided into 6 classes. In every class there are 30 students and helped by 15 teachers to teach in the school. This school is located near the only road to Kopeng from Salatiga. All volunteer will teach in the school and help the local people to plant and harvest in the local garden near the host family like chili, tomato, cabbage, etc.
Work: the volunteer has task to teach in the local school in Getasan 01 elementary school. In the afternoon they will take part in planting and harvesting the plant based on the planting and harvesting time there.
Study theme: the volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure time: during free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit the Kalipancur waterfall, taking part in helping local people to take fresh milk from the cow. You will also have a chance to do some sport activities with the local youths.
Accommodation: the volunteers will be accommodated in Indonesian host families (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) where they will also receive food.
Location: this work camp will be held in Getasan village, Salatiga, Semarang district which is 65 kms away from Semarang city.

DJ-68 PEKALONGAN PROJECT 8.09. – 22.09.2012 EDU+ RENO 12 VOLS
Back ground: Pekalongan is known as Kota Batik (BatikCity), beautiful and unique traditional clothes for Indonesian. Batik is one of the most popular traditional arts in Indonesia. Positioned on the trading routes between China, India and Arabia, the city absorbed many influences. The name “Pekalongan” itself was derived from the world a-pek-along-an meaning a place for catching fish. Pekalongan is an old-fashioned atmosphere and an ethnically diverse population. The main street, Gajah Mada/ HayamWuruk Street is such a popular place for trading or business centre. Pekalongan is relatively quiet for its size.
Work:The volunteer will teach students simple basic English and introduce some English kids songs. The volunteers will also do simple renovation to the school such as making bookshelf for a library or painting the classroom. They will l also involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids.

Leisure time: During the free time, the volunteers may visit Linggoasri, a natural place for doing some outbound activities and they can visit Pekalongan city for batik shopping and having some lesson to make batik.

DJ-69 KARIMUNJAWA PROJECT 14.09. – 27.09.2012 CONS + EDU 12 VOLS
Background: Karimunjawa Islands is a national park with beautiful beaches and coral reefs. Kemujan is one of the islands of Karimunjawa. Kemujan village’s population is of around 4.250 inhabitants. Most of
the people live as fishermen and grow sea weed. Since most of the island is not fertile, only substance level cultivation of rice and vegetables is possible.
Kemujan Safinatul Huda Senior High School is located in Kemujan Island as part of Karimunjawa Group of Islands. The islands are located in the Java Sea on the north of Java Island, about 100 kms from Semarang City and around 80 kms from Jepara City. It has around 100 students, mostly coming from the nearby islands. It has 3 levels of classes, VII, VIII and IX. Usually each class consists of around 20 to 25 students and has 17 teachers and administrative workers. The education system managed by the school is very open and responsive to new ideas and knowledge.
We want to host foreign volunteers because we believe that the result of their activity will be useful for local people, in this case is by making permanent rubbish dump. Those volunteers also have a chance to help the education filed for students by English teaching, and other activities.
Work: volunteers will have physical work which are making rubbish dump for local village and also making some garbage bin for several classes at school. The volunteers will also teach students simple basic English and introduce some English kids songs. They will l also involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure Time: During the free time, the volunteers may get the real attraction of Karimunjawa island that is visiting Menjangan Island which has white sand, good snorkeling and are within easy to reach of Karimun town. Moreover, Karimunjawa Island is very well known from its white sand and beautiful beaches.
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in Indonesian host families (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) and cook their own meals.

DJ-70 PURWOKERTO PROJECT 15.09. – 29.09.2012 KIDS+RENO 12 VOLS
Background:Our project site will be in one of popular districts in Purwokerto, Baturaden. Baturaden is well known area for tourism in Central Java, Indonesia. Until 2006, Baturaden is the only tourism area in Banyumas regency, one of regencies in Central Java province. With the position as the lonely tourism object in the area, and the increasing of visitors, some people thought to create another, a supporting tourism object. Ketenger village has many aspects of uniqueness. Their society, nature, traditions, until unique foods are special. This village also has enough supporting facilities for the publics.
Work: volunteers will have physical work which is making a gazebo for local kids. The volunteers will also teach students simple basic English and introduce some English kids songs. They will l also involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure Time: volunteer may visit some tourism places close to the project site such as market, park as well as natural view.
Accommodation: volunteer will be provided with dormitory close to the office. This dormitory is furnished with some basic element such as bed and private bath room. Food will be provide three times a days and local lady will cook for the volunteers.

DJ-71 PATEMON PROJECT 22.09.– 6.10.2012 CONS + KIDS 12 VOLS
Background: SDN Patemon 01 is on higher part of suburban area of Semarang. It is located on the border between Semarang and other city. It has good atmosphere of village setting area. Many of inhabitants are working on the farm as farmer owners or workers. This school was established in 1967. School activities start on the 7am – 1pm from Monday to Saturday. Nevertheless, the school also provides extra activities in order to facilitate student’s interest. There are 230 students from 6 – 13 years old. They are divided into 6 different levels. Those students are assisted by 13 teachers.
Work:The volunteer will teach students simple basic English and introduce some English kids songs. The volunteers will also do simple renovation to the school such as making bookshelf for a library or painting the classroom. They will also be involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the education activities of the disabled students related with Indonesian culture and customs in general.
Leisure Time: During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit Semarang city, Samp Poo Kong Chinese Temple, LawangSewu Building and GedongSongo Hindus Temples.
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in the local host family (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed). Food will be provided by local lady.

DJ-72 TUNTANG PROJECT 10.11– 24.11. 2012 RENO + EDU 12 VOLS
Background: Dejavato plans to organize this project together with local community organization named “MajuMakmur”. This is one of women organization focusing on some home industries project from training, production and marketing proses of certain products. In home industries context there are productions of table clothes from second hand product, doormat made of water hyacinth and also crackers made of soybeans. Besides, they also organize program in relation with mother and baby health. They organize regular medical checkup and healthy food program for local mother and baby.
Work: Cultural exchanges and educational activities for local students will be fruitful combination program in the morning in co-operation with local elementary school. Besides that international volunteers are also expected to share some ideas and program in the workshop to give more understanding and knowledge to the local community related to women empowerment program.
Study theme: the volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure time: volunteer will have a chance to visit some interesting places during the free time. On the other hand, volunteer may have cultural activities with local teenager such as sports.

DJ-73 ELEPHANT PROJECT 8.12. – 17.12.2012 ANIMAL CONSRV 12 VOLS
Background: In the year of 2011 Dejavato initiated to create new project in this are working together with local government focusing on animal conservation program mainly elephant. Our projects in 2011 were successfully done with support from our international partners. We got very nice feedback both volunteers and also local government in conducting our pilot projects. Therefore, in 2012 Dejavato plans to organize this elephant project to continue our activities with local government.
Work: Volunteer will help local mahout daily to take care the elephant starting from bathing/showering, feeding, health checking and grassing the elephant. One local mahout will be accompanied by two volunteers in doing his daily job.
Study theme: The volunteers could enjoy the beauty of the landscape around the project site.
Leisure Time: During the free time, the volunteers may have a forest safari with local mahout. During this safari volunteer and mahout could have camp fire, fishing as well as swimming in the middle of forest.
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in Elephant Conservation Centre/ kind of dormitory(basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed). Food will be provided with catering service.
Location: The workcamp will take place in Bengkulu, Sumatera.

DJ-74 SULURSARI PROJECT 19.01. - 2.02.2013 CONS+KIDS 12 VOLS
Background: Our project will be located in SD Sulursari 4. We have been focusing on this project since the last two years. We would like to host foreign volunteers because we believe that their interaction with the children, during education and vocational classes will be of great benefit for the students, teachers as well as the local people. The intercultural dimension that their presence will generate and will also be welcomed and valued by the local staffs. The support that the volunteers will give to our teaching staff, particularly those teaching English, will be invaluable.
Work: volunteers will have physical work at school that is making parking lot for the students. Besides that, volunteer will also be involved in other activities like teaching English and playing with the kids.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure Time: During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit the BledukKuwu, a small mud volcano, used by the people in the surroundings to make salt from its water. You will also have a chance to visit Purwodadi city and do some sport activities with the local youths.

DJ-75 KEMUDO PROJECT 19.01. - 2.02.2013 RENO + KIDS 12 VOLS
Background: it's almost 5 years of partnership with local community in this area since our first project was successfully conducted in 2006. Since then Dejavato committed to work continuously with local community as well as local school in the field of education, social and cultural in the frame of voluntary services program. In the year of 2012 Dejavato plans to have new project in this are together with new local partner that is SD Sanggrahan 2 the same level as elementary school. This school is located in the middle of the village. However, there are only few number of students studying there. We want to host foreign volunteers because we believe that the result of their activity will be useful for local people, in this case is by making permanent rubbish dump. Those volunteers also have a chance to help the education filed for students by English teaching, and other activities.
Work:The volunteers will do small renovation paint the local school and be involved in educational activities with the children (they will mainly teach English and basic hygiene practices).
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure Time: visit the nearby World Heritage site and temples of Prambanan and/or Yogyakarta City.

DJ-76 GUNUNGPATI PROJECT 26.01. - 9.02.2013 CONS + KIDS 12 VOLS
Background: Our project will be in one of boarding school for teenager in Semarang. There are for about 200 students all together. Inside of this centre there are senior and junior high school level in which students are studying every day. All students are living in the dormitory. Since this is a private boarding school, they do not get any finance support for government. Therefore, they have to find their own way how to improve their quality as well as facility.
This is Islamic boarding school where local tradition and culture are very familiar in daily life. Most of student's activities are in relation with Muslim tradition such as reading holy book (Al -Qur'an) or praying 5 times a day. Students put very high respect toward the leader of the boarding school called "Ulama" or "Kyiai". He and his wife are the key person of the school and every student will obey and execute their advices. However, this school is very opened minded with new knowledge and activities as long as contribute positive impact toward students' education. Therefore, there are several extracurricular activities performed in the afternoon such as self-defense, music and Boy Scout
Work: Volunteer will work together with local students to renovate the dormitory. They will renovate several bedrooms where students are living. Volunteer will refurnish and repaint the dormitory. Volunteers are also expected to have English activities with local students by conducting some games, sharing or opened discussion with them.

DJ-78 JEMBRANA PROJECT 16.02. - 2.03.2013 RENO + EDU 12 VOLS
Background: Jembrana is one of Regency in Bali Island. It is located in the west part of Bali Island. Jembaran can be reached for 2 hours by car or bus from Denpasar. Different from the capital city of Denpasar, Jembaran is peaceful and quite place. There are a lot of rice fields stretches along the regency. Moreover, the local community is very opened and warm to the visitors.
SMP 2 Mendoyo is one of state secondary school located in MendoyoSubdistric, Jembrana Regency, Bali Island. This schools was established in 1982 aiming to create a qualified and civilized school. There are 3 grades all together, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Each grade consists of 5 classes from A-E, where 25 students are accommodated in each class. There are 50 teachers all together who dedicated their skills as well as knowledge. The students are between 12-14 years old and their English level is beginner. Therefore, we are conducting this workcamp project in order to encourage and motivate students to enhance their English skill as well as building better education facilities for the school.
