04 18/08/10-01/09/10 CONSTRUCTION, in LIVADA - PROJECT : This
work-camp began in 2008. We plan that these 4 work-camps will finish the construction
of a house for old people. The volunteers will go on a trip to Turda Salina and
the gorges (Cheile Turzii).
- WORK : The task of the volunteers will
consist in activities concerning the construction of a house for old people, more
specific in the finishing part of the building process .
During the work-camps
organized to carry out this project, the volunteers will have different activities,
such as rough-cast the building, plastering, cleaning, pavilion construction,
planning yard and garden.
- ACCOMODATION : In a part of the house for
old people of Livada village. The bathroom is in the building but you will have
the opportunity to take outdoor showers and enjoy a beautiful summer in a traditional
Romanian village.
- LOCATION : Livada is a small village in Cluj county,
situated 30 km away from Cluj-Napoca. Close to Livada you can find the city of
Campia Turzii and the Turda Gorges (Cheile Turzii), the most popular gorges in
the Apuseni Mountains and the most extraordinary gorges in Romania (because of
the height, number and variety of the walls, several species of rare plants).
Being one of the most important growers of the county, Livada as well as its economy
is sustained by the agriculture. Smaller commercial houses, some family businesses,
services and a small industry complete its economical spectrum.
