"Funny Fences -2" (Kostroma region) 31 July-13 August 2011, ART, 10

English, knowledge of Russian Russian is welcome Location: Nerehta is
an old town with beautiful countryside and numerous churches that belongs to the
Kostroma region - a 5 hours' ride northeast from Moscow. Receiving organization
- International Youth Center Earth planet of people (Terre des hommes) - is a
local NGO and specializes in recreational-educational programs for children, art
projects, and social projects in the home town Nerekhta. Work: "Funny
Fences 2011" - is a big long-term program, on-going since 2010. Volunteers
will make drawing and painting on fences and walls in any style they choose. They
will also organize and carry out social events related to their work. Sometimes
they will take part in repair works and do some cleaning. In the program will
also take part other youth groups, some of them will work at the same time. The
final part of the project will be a small fest for all the groups who took part

Volunteers will stay in a cosy hostel-type house, 4-6 people in a room. There
are showers and toilets on each floor. Three delicious meals a day will be provided
for participants as well. Free time activities: There are plenty of
activities you can enjoy in your free time - from cycling to swimming in the pool
and playing table tennis. Craft workshops will be organized on the site. You can
take part in any of the numerous leisure and educational activities in the children's
camp (for the kids 11-16 years old), which is running at the same time. Requirements:
Volunteers should have skill in drawing. Motivation letter is needed. Transportation:
6-8 hours from Moscow by train.Or bus transfer from/to Moscow will be organized
for volunteers (additional payment approx. 50 eu), with a couple of excursions
on the way (road to Nerekhta is a part of the famous Russian Golden Ring). way

English, Russian is welcome This camp is a great opportunity to get acquainted
with monuments of Russian architecture of the 12th-18th centuries within the "Golden
Ring" of Russia. The Golden Ring (Russian: Zolotoye Kol'tso) is a number
of towns surrounding and including Moscow. They are considered to be the most
beautiful in Russia, their beautiful Kremlins, monasteries, cathedrals and churches
with unique Russian famous "onion" domes attracts thousands of tourists
from all over the world. Work: This workcamp is run by the regional
organization of "Russian Union of Youth" since 2000. This year we are
continuing renovation of two churches. The work will include demolishing of the
wall of the side-chapel, different clearings to prepare the space for new contraction.
The work is quite physically demanding. Volunteers will work together with Russian
participants of the student's camp, which is running at the same time. Work 6
hours a day except weekends. Accommodation: We will live in the sport
hall of the school closed for summer, located about 5-10 minutes walking distance
from the work place. Meals 3 times a day will be provided by the school canteen
(food is not vegetarian). Free time activities: Volunteers may enjoying
hiking around the Nekrasovskiy area, where are many churches, monuments and beautiful
nature of the Volga river. The trip to Yaroslavl' - a regional center and one
of the oldest and most beautiful cities of the "Golden ring" of Russia
