Switzerland 2011

Background
The idea behind the foundation of Workcamp Switzerland had Sophie Kaiser. She volunteered in different projects in Europe and Latin America. Her experiences got it on to organise Workcamps in Switzerland and to place volunteers abroad. On 10th January 2004 the association Workcamp Switzerland was founded by enthusiastic young people. Our association is young and dynamic with concrete aims and ideas. We offer youths to gain valuable experiences in an unconventional way. And we support our partners in their social, cultural and ecological projects. Over the last years, the demand increased, the interest exists and the demands on our association rise.
Are you initiative, creative and motivated for an honorary engagement during your spare time? Do you want to bring your experiences in our directorate? To work in our association means an interesting and various assignment, experiences in the non formal youth work, contact with people around the world and a new challenge you can even mark out in your reference.Because we are a small association we are happy about all the support we can get. Experiences in an association would be nice, but it's not obligatory. If you feel too compressed to work in the directorate we would be even happy, if you can help out from time to time. This could be during an event, a presentation in schools or other irregular activities.
Aims
Cultural exchange and getting to know young people from all over the world, is the aim of Workcamp Switzerland.
To support charity projects is possible with the help of our volunteers. Workcamp Switzerland wants to be better known by increasing media presence, getting more members, partners, sponsors and of course volunteers.
Main focus is public relations. Thanks to institutions and companies, Workcamp Switzerland was able to build up its presence. But the great demand on the part of volunteers and partners forces us to find more sponsors.

Statutes
Workcamp Switzerland is a non-profit association. Politically independent and non-confessional.
By organising and placing international workcamps, Workcamp Switzerland wants to develop two appeals.
On the one hand to support social, cultural and environmental projects which could not or rarely be realised. On the other hand to enable young people cultural interactions, to open their understanding for other cultures, to strengthen their sense of responsibility and to develop their practical experiences as well as their ability to cooperate.
