Social
workcamp that aims to bring together young people, grandparents, families with
low incomes and at risk of social exclusion and homelessness in a project to establish
or improve links and relationships between neighbors and help improve the situation
of people at risk social exclusion.
Supporting volunteers in: Foster house,
Social dining room and Social stitcher. Partner organization: Obre't Ebre
Work:
Social work: sharing time and expertise (IT, languages, cooking ...), help with
daily tasks to the nuns of the refuge of "Caritas", sorting and distributing
food, ...
Renovation work to the stitcher "Caritas": cleaning, painting
and assembling shelves ...
Community work: Clean paths whereabouts or the beach
... Accomodation: In a big classroom with wardrobes, bathrooms and
showers in the Foster Home. This accomodation it's managed by nuns. You must respect
the silence.
Free time activities: Activities to discover the environment (environmental
tours and sites in the city of Tortosa), to learn the Catalan culture (traditional
games: petanque, table games, music workshops and traditional dance), to learn
sustainability (games role-playing, workshops, recycling, organic farming ...),
for social cohesion (games and group dynamics, participatory workshops intergenerational,
playing sports with young people, lectures, storytelling, participation in festivals
...), participate in village festivals. Location: Tortosa

as the subject matter of the field: social services, contacts with people with
few resources...
The principal collaboration will be done by Caritas, religious
entity, but the workcamp lay.
For her turning socially of the field and to
facilitate the contact with the users who the great majority do not have knowledge
of English, it is valued if the participants can speak Spanish. way

This project has an educational and social topic.The
project will consist in two different topics:
1) actions in the town, such
as: reconstruction of the rails of a Salt Mine and cleaning the space; cleaning
works and repairs of a fountain and cleaning and to put up signs on two routes
of the municipality.
2) preparing an International Meeting about the youth
life in rural areas to take place on July 23st "Volunteering in rural areas"

organization: CRUC, Coordinació Rural de Catalunya
Work: The
work consists on recuperation of the Salt mine, a fountain and cleaning and to
put up signs on two routes of the municipality. Also volunteers will preparing
material, doing the setting and logistics in order to prepare the International
Meeting on Youth and Rural life that is to be held at Cambils these dates, as
well as preparing a multicultural lunch.
Accomodation: In tents, at
the camping of Cambrils. All services provided.
Free time activities:
Trips to the area (Turp, Pont del Clop…), one day in Barcelona, traditional
dances, popular lunch, Intergenerational exchange.

Delta Workcamp 17/07/2011 to 31/07/2011 El Prat de Llobregat ENVI

We will work in the natural environment of the Delta of Llobregat.

organization: Fundació Catalana de l'Esplai
Work: The tasks of
the work camp will be divided in 3 lines: -actions to improve the environmental
situation of the natural spaces of the Delta -collaboration in projects of conservation
and management of the natural areas of the Delta -actions to spread awareness
about the importance of the agricultural land stewardships in the marine Delta.
This year volunteers will also work for the recovery of path "Sant Jaume".
Accomodation:
Centre Esplai Youth Hostel. All services provided.
Free time activities:
Different activities and games with the aim of reflexion about the perspectives
of coeducation, interculturality, peace or sustainability. There will also be
activities to promote the discovering of Catalonia: excursion to Montserrat; and
excursion in bicycle for the river Besós, where we will visit the Moli
de Sant Oleguer.
