MISSION OF INEX - SDA WORKCAMPS
We expect your good will to come and help where help is needed.
We don’t expect professionalism but we count with your interest as for program and individual project.
We can not offer you luxurious accommodation and board but basic conditions corresponding with the focus of the project. We expect your modesty and tolerance in this point.
We make an effort to get in touch with local community and we suppose you being the main strength in it.
We don’t expect you to spend your leisure time lying, sleeping, sitting in pub every evening or visiting mass-tourist attractions, but we invite you to spend leisure time actively and submitted to the aims of the project, too. We offer you to take part in games, visiting local people, seminars, lectures, debates with interesting people, walks etc.

WHO WE ARE?
INEX - Association for Voluntary Service (INEX-SDA) was established in 1991 on the basis of the activities of the Centre for International Youth Exchange and Tourism. INEX –SDA has been designed especially for young people with the aim to promote international peace, understanding and tolerance. INEX – SDA is a non-governmental, non-profit-making organisation. Our activities consist of implementing of the projects based on voluntary work and on the activities in social, cultural and environmental fields. These projects were established according to the topics of our current and developing activities. One of the important parts is accepting and sending volunteers within international exchanges. The form of voluntary work includes mostly short-term camps of voluntary work, known as workcamps abroad. We are especially trying to increase the co-operation with places – villages, towns, local authorities and inhabitants, where our camps were successful.
We organised 48 workcamps last year. Moreover, we received about 400 volunteers from abroad and we sent about 600 of our volunteers abroad. Under the program “Youth – European Voluntary Service” we host long-term volunteers on two projects. INEX – SDA is approved by the Czech National Agency as hosting as well as sending organisation.

Our international short-term voluntary projects can be classified into five thematic groups:

1. Sustainable development of rural areas (project code starts with 1)
The projects take place in small rural communities and focus on the sustainable development of the villages and the surrounding countryside. With their practical and often manual work the volunteers support local municipalities and non-governmental organizations.

2. Conservation of cultural heritage (project code starts with 2)
The projects focus mainly on the preservation and renovation of historically significant objects such as castles, historical cemeteries, churches and other monuments. The volunteers will get familiar with the history of the Czech Republic. Through their practical work awareness for the importance to preserve historically and culturally important sites is raised.

3. Supporting social projects (project code starts with 3)
The volunteers support various social projects, which offer help to people facing social exclusion, children and youth, the elderly, people with special needs and others. According to the needs of the local partner, the volunteers do manual work (e.g. renovation, maintenance, construction work) or work directly with the projects’ clients.

4. Ecological projects (project code starts with 4)
The projects aim at environmental protection and education towards an environment-friendly lifestyle. The volunteers will do practical environmental work in natural preserves, forests, organic farms and other environmentally important areas. Most of the work takes place outdoors such as renovation of tourist trails, planting trees, gardening and scything meadows.

5. Other projects (project code starts with 5)
