UA-Alt Ukrainian
Association for youth Cooperation Alternative-V - is a non-political,
non-profit non-governmental organisation, founded in 1992. Alternative-V was created
to facilitate co-operation between youth organisations, to involve Ukrainian young
people into programmes on the national and international level in the fields of
education, culture, ecology, historical heredity protection and helping disadvantaged
people. Alternative-V wants to contribute to development of more peaceful society,
to the decrease of social injustice. The Association obtained all-Ukrainian status
in 1999. The main activities of the organisation include short-term voluntary
projects - international youth voluntary workcamps in different regions of Ukraine,
long-term voluntary projects, seminars, conferences and trainings on both national
and international level, youth exchanges and educational programmes.The organisation
is a member of Alliance of the European Voluntary Service Organisations, CCIVS
/UNESCO (Co-ordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service). The organisation
is official partner of SCI (Service Civil International) and ICYE (International
Cultural Youth Exchange). The organisation is a member of: - CCIVS

Association for Youth Co-operation "Alternative-V" Age limit:
We accept volunteers from 18 years upwards
. As a rule there is no upper
age limit in Ukrainian volunteer camps. Language: project language
is always English, but if you have any knowledge of Slavic languages it will help
you to orientate in our country. Extra fee: as a rule we do not have
extra fee in our workcamps. What to bring: musical instruments, detailed
information about your country, flags, national music, postcards (will be used
for geographical and historical quizzes), national games and recipes, arts and
crafts to make with kids.What to bring: musical instruments, detailed information

national games and recipes, good mood and motivation. You should also bring sleeping
bag and roll mat. You may come with your own bike if you want but it is not required,
please let us know in advance if you are coming with your bike. It is recommended
to have: caps with peak and sunglasses, sun-protection lotion, raincoats. Drums,
guitars and other musical support are very welcome. Don't forget to bring your
medical insurance. Please bring some pictures, stories, music, national foods
and drinks etc for the great cultural exchange! It will be very nice if you can
bring some materials about biking culture in your city/country etc.Please, get
ready for the intercultural evening and bring some traditional food, drinks, music
and pictures from your country.
